This month’s meeting will be held at the FiberLoft. We so appreciate being able to have our meeting in such a terrific store.

We are excited to welcome Debra Gerhard of Spruce Lane Designs. Deb is a wonderful Rhode Island designer who’s work is on Ravelry, Facebook, and Instagram. Not only will she be showing us some of her fantastic designs but she will be giving a workshop on the stiches used in the Cusp Shawl and Beneath the Summer Skies Shawls.

Please bring the following:

  • US 5 and US 6 needles
  • Regular knitting tools for example scissors, stitch markers, etc.
  • 40 yard of fingering weight yarn ( Leftovers, mini skeins, etc. are fine) 
  • 10 yards of a contrasting color lace weight yarn in either all wool or mohair/silk base   (If you do no have any laceweight yarn, bring another fingering weight in a contrasting color.)

This month is will be something we have never done before…Our Personal Knitting History. We all have one and it would be great to hear about yours…

* When did you start knitting? Or was it crochet?
* Who taught you?
* What was the first thing you remember knitting?
* Did you knit or crochet a bazillion of something?
* What did you knit and never knit again?
* What do you love to knit now? For you or for others?

Please bring anything that you still have from your early knitting, or just anything that is your favorite thing you have now.

November will have Deb Gerhard of Spruce Lane Designs coming to show off her work and teach us about two the Cusp Shawl and Beneath the Summer Skies Shawl.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

Happy September! This will be a fun-filled year!

This month is all things triangle shawls!

Please bring a favorite triangle shawl to show to the group We are going to discuss triangle shawl construction and how to wear them.

Don’t forget to show us what you have been up to all summer! Bring any completed projects you want to share with the group and your current knitting projects! Need help or stuck? No worries as I am sure someone at the guild will know how to help!

Please bring in any ideas or suggestion on what you want to do this year. Do you have a favorite designer? Want yarn crawl to our favorite yarn shops or fiber festivals? Do you want to do a KAL for charity or fun? Something you want to learn? Let’s created a great year of fun and activities

Guild meetings are for everyone! It is a place where everyone is welcome. We are would love to see our old friends and make new ones! This guild is nothing without our members. Let’s get together to have some lively conversions and laughter, share our love of fiber and just enjoy being together as we create fantastic items out of a little ball of fiber!

Membership is open to all. The cost is $35 per year. Visitors are usually welcome. We may asks visitors for a $10 – $15 meeting fee when we have a special speaker.

Let’s talk interchangeable needles! Bring your sets, your opinions and your questions, and lets dive into the topic of needles.

Don’t forget to bring your latest project, newest creations and any questions for show and tell. Stuck with a project, we have people who can help you.

Our guild is open to all levels of handcrafters…From people just learning to the seasoned professional. Come and enjoy an evening of sharing, learning, good conversation and lots of laughter! We are a welcoming group of people who share a love of fiber and making things.

June Meeting- Fun, Food, Laughter and Yarn Swap!

7 PM – June 1, 2022 at Holy Trinity Church, 15 Still River Road, Harvard, MA

We have not held a June meeting in the last 6 years or so. In the past the June meeting was always a fun social event, generally held at someone’s home. We had food and laughter. So I want to bring that back. Let’s have some fun.

We have arranged with the church to hold another meeting in June. So let’s have fun. We will meet on Wednesday June 1 at 7 pm. Let’s bring food and drink to share. And Let’s do a Yarn Swap. Bring any yarn, notions, needles/hooks or books to share. If you don’t have anything to swap, that is ok and please take some home anyway. Anything that doesn’t go home with a new or previous owner, will be donated to Savers.

We can’t wait to see you all (and empty our closets a bit) on Wednesday. Also if you have any thoughts and ideas for future meetings, this would be a good time to share.

May Meeting – Ivy Brambles Dyeing workshop with Cyndi and Jerry

We are so excited to welcome back Cyndi and Jerry of Ivy Bramble for their annual dyeing workshop!  It is being held on Wednesday, May 4th from 7 PM – 9 PM at Holy Trinity Church, 15 Still River Road, Harvard, MA. 

The yarns are all $24 per skein.   Here are the yarns being offered for dyeing:

  • Fingering/sock weight at 440 yards per 100 grams
  • DK weight at 296 yards per 100 grams
  • Worsted weight at 235 yards per 100 grams

They are able to support anyone who wishes to make a sweater quantity, in case there is interest.

The admission to the workshop is free for members and $10 for guest. We are offering a membership special.  If you join the guild in May for $25, you get the 22/23 membership for free.

This year we are requesting for people to reserve their spot by ordering the yarn prior to the meeting.  We ask you to use Venmo or you can also pay by check. Make check out to NVKG and send it to: NVKG C/O Linda Fisher, 3 Kattail Road, Hudson, MA 01749to pay for the yarn.  In the comments list the yarn requested, number of skeins and if you are paying the $10 guest fee or the $25 membership fee for 22/23.

April Meeting

So Let’s Talk about Hand Knitting. At April’s meeting, we will take a dive into hand knitting. Where did it come from, where is it going and what does social media have to do with it? So bring some needles and yarn and let’s knit. We will try some new stitch patterns!

For those who crochet, come and show us your favorite stitch patterns!

Our meeting is held at Holy Trinity Church, 15 Still River Road, Harvard, MA from 7 PM – 9 PM. Beginner to Expert…All are welcome! Please come and join in the fun!

March 2022 Meeting

Thank you to all those who were able to join us on Wednesday evening. Jill was just a fantastic speaker and a delight! Each of her patterns have a story behind it, may teach you something new that and many have a new take on every day stitches. Jill encourages BYOD—Bring your own designer – letting the knitter to tap the designer within and make each project being knit thier own. It was a very special evening. To have Jill and her designs in person with our fellow knitting friends gathered together in the same place, knitting, laughing and just enjoying being together was just magical! Everyone left feeling happier!

We had a fabulous speaker this month! Jill of Knit Sisu will be joining us in person. She will discuss her approach to knitware design, instruction, and host a Q & A. In addition, Jill is going to share her trunk show with us!

It should be a wonderful evening! The meeting will be held in person and via Zoom.

February 2022 Meeting

Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 7:00 pm, at The Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, (formerly known as St. Theresa, The Little Flower Church), 15 Still River Road, Harvard.

This month Maryanne Cleary we will be doing Twined Knitting, which is a technique of knitting from the Scandinavian countries. See the newsletter for the pattern suggestions.  Materials you will need:  Worsted weight yarn (preferable wool) wound into a center pull ball, size 5 double points or circular needles, and 2 additional double point needles any size.


If you select the two color mittens.  You will need to wind about half of one color into a center pull ball, then the  half of the second color will go on top of the first color to make the 2-color ball.

It should be a wonderful evening! The meeting will be held in person and via Zoom.

Our annual dues is $25. Visitors are welcome! Just learning to knit/crochet or a seasoned professional…Everyone is welcome!
